The latest and pretty rare addition!

The newest addition to my vinyl collection…and a rare one indeed. The original 1977 Lp “Street Survivors” in near-mint, released Oct 17…and three days later on Oct 20, 1977 the bands plane crashed, killing lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, Guitarist Steve Gaines, his sister Cassie, their assistant road manager, and the two pilots. At the request of family members, this album cover was changed shortly after the crash, using a plain picture of the band with a black background, which had been the back cover. Artimus Pyle was the bands drummer who survived the crash, and you can see he autographed this album cover in 2006, when Lynyrd Skynyrd was inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame. You’ll see the planned tour for 77-78′ on one of the album inserts…the tour starting just 5 days before the crash, and late in the schedule were to be dates here in the Northwest, in late January 1978. The seller also included this personal picture taken at the grave of Cassie Gaines, and her Mother (also Cassie), who died in a car crash in 1979. ~ Ron
