A public health order for four counties in southern Idaho has failed on a three to three vote.

Board members Megan Blanksma, Ryan Stirm, Elt Hasbrouck voted NO while Jane Young, Diana Lachiondo and Dr. Ted Epperly voted YES.

The public health order would have prohibited all gatherings of 10 people or more in Ada, Elmore, Boise, and Valley counties (political and religious activities for worship would be exempt as long as proper social distancing and face-covering guidelines are followed)

A week ago, the board’s meeting was abruptly canceled after it was asked to by Boise Police and the mayor’s office due to security concerns.
