Featuring Deep Purple’s Mk II line-up of Ian Gillan, Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, Roger Glover and Ian Paice, Made In Japan was recorded to 8-track by the band’s regular studio engineer Martin Birch during concerts at Osaka’s Festival Hall on 15-16th August 1972 and Tokyo’s Budokan on 17 August. Originally intended solely for release in Japan.
