Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76 according to an announcement from his family.
Ozzy was born John Michael Osbourne in December of 1948 in Ashton, Birmingham.
He co-founded the icon metal group, Black Sabbath, in Birmingham in 1968 as the lead singer only to be fired by the group in 1979. Ozzy went on to have success as a solo artist and a reality TV star with “The Osbournes” in 2002 that ran for 52 episodes.
Ozzy and wife Sharon created Ozzfest in 1996 that toured until 2018. Black Sabbath reunited with Ozzy several times included at several Ozzfest’s and recently at “Back To The Beginning” in Birmingham on July, 5, 2025 that raised $190 million for charity.
As his health was failing due to his hard partying lifestyle, severe injuries from an ATV accident in 2003, a fall in 2019 that dislodged metal rods in his back and was diagnosed with Parkinsons the same year, Ozzy wanted to have one more show for the fans and then passed away 17 days later. The concert will be released in theatres in 2027.
