The “Darkness” tour was widely regarded as the very best collection of concerts from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. And on the next broadcast of Live in Concert, we’re taking you back to one of the best from that tour!
On October 1st, 1978, Bruce and the guys took the stage at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. What happened next was pure rock and roll bliss!
It was supposed to be the final concert of the tour but because of the overwhelming success of the tour, the band had no choice but to add another 34 shows, extending it into 1979. These concerts would routinely run well over 3 hours. They set the foundation for Springsteen’s stellar reputation as a brilliant live performer.
