The death of Tom Petty hasl been announced by the band in a statement below:

Musican Tom Petty, born Thomas Earl Petty, suffered cardiac arrest on Sunday, October 1st.   He was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2002, the Song Writers Hall of Fame in June of 2016, and in addition to touring as a solo artist and as “Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers”, Petty was also part of the supergroup the Traveling Wilburys in the 1980’s which featured Jeff Lynee from ELO, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and George Harrison.  Tom Petty had recently wrapped up his 40th Anniversary Tour earlier this year.  Tom Petty has sold more than 80 million records worldwide.

He last played Idaho on August 5th, 2014 at Taco Bell Arena in Boise.
