Next 2 Rock Local Finals

Free local concert as bands battle it out for a chance to play the finals in LA. If any bands from Idaho make it to the nationals they will be competing for a record contract.
No cover and show runs from 6-9 PM.

Local celebrity judges will include:
Mike Prater – local sports radio host on 93.1 KTIK – The Ticket

Mike Prater is a longtime Idaho sports journalist, Co-host of Idaho Sports Talk at KITK-FM and “Editor for The Opinionator”.  Prater spent 28 years at the Idaho Statesman and is passionate about the Utes & Music!


Charles A. Gibbs – owner of The Happy Hippy

Chuck Gibbs is the owner of two Happy Hippy locations…the original one in Ontario, Oregon and the newest one on the Boulevard in Nampa. Chuck was born and raised in Ontario and he’s a big fan of classic rock. His favorite artists are Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, Tom Petty and Bob Seger. This is his second time judging the Next2Rock competition. He was an audience favorite last year with his encouraging and witty commentary. We are looking forward to his participation this year.

 

Dylan Cline – local musican and founder of the the Idaho Potato Drop

Dylan Cline is the founder of the Idaho® Potato Drop, freshman pilot and multi-instrumentalist. Cline has written, recorded and performed with an eclectic mix of musical projects including; Matt Hopper & the Roman Candles, FoxxTones, The Maladies, Revolt! Revolt!, Danny Black & the Galaxy, DeVaard, and multi-#1 Billboard chart topper MCO Orchestra to name a few.
His various performances and decade-long tenure with the Roman Candles has spanned the country, performing coveted gigs such as the “Jagermeister Tour” with Portugal. The Man, Adam Duritz’ intimate SXSW showcase “The Outlaw Roadshow”, Angels & Airwaves freshman tour and a sold-out run of shows last summer opening for The Head and The Heart.

Nick Lugo – local musican, 2017 Next2Rock winner


Nick Lugo is the bass player for the touring thrash metal band Krytsos.  “Full of adventurous thrash and a new generation attitude, KRYSTOS punches the scene with their new metallic twist. Influenced by the modern European power metal and classic thrash bands, Krystos stands out from the pack with their consistent dedication to touring, writing, and expanding their ever growing fan base. Releasing “Walk Through the Inferno” worldwide on Amazon, Itunes, Rhapsody, and Zune and also back to back tours have proven that Krystos have achieved many things since emerging as a full band in 2010, and have only just begun.”

Krystos won Next2Rock for Boise in 2017 after their performance at The Knitting Factory and submitted a song to the national contest.
