State Coffers are Full to Bursting

Boise (670 KBOI News) – The money is rolling in to the Idaho State Treasury.

According to the Division of Financial management, February revenues were $166 million, when $121 million was forecast…that’s 36.3% percent better than was expected.

It’s the fourth straight month revenue has surpassed expectations.

While all tax categories did better than forecast, individual income tax was the biggest contributor to the February surplus. $16.5 million had been projected to come in, while $46.1 million actually did…that’s 180-percent better than the forecast.

So far this fiscal year, the General Fund has received $2.432 billion, which is $131 million higher than expected, and 12% better than this time a year ago.
